Manager for Healthcare and Clinical Audits

Responsibilities
You will lead the Internal Audit department and will be responsible for bringing technical competence in healthcare and clinical processes to enable the department to undertake technical /quality reviews in the health care areas and to add value to the University operations.
Specific responsibilities will include:
lead, conduct and supervise the technical reviews of healthcare and clinical audit related assignments
participate and contribute to the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives
keep yourself abreast with latest developments in the health care process audits, risk based audit, health systems administration areas as well as in audit practices
manage a team to handle day to day operations of the healthcare related audit area for timely completion of the assigned tasks
review and guide staff performance to ensure that assignments are undertaken in a professional manner and that recommendations are aimed at adding value
mentor staff, especially as it relates to reviews of healthcare operations
disseminate knowledge among the staff by making presentations, conducting workshops etc.
develop and maintain contacts and linkages with departments to create an atmosphere of trust while maintaining an arms-length relationship
assist Chief Internal Auditor (CIA) in ensuring that goals and objectives of the department are met on an ongoing basis
carry out special assignments as directed by the CIA
review and edit reports prepared by audit supervisors for circulation to the departments as well as members of the Internal Audit Review Committee
ensure efficient utilization of available resources
manage administrative tacks relating to the department including preparing, monitoring and reporting on manpower operational and capital budgets as assigned by the CIA
engage external expertise for specific audit assignment as required
assist CIA in development of standard policies and procedures as and when required for carrying out audit activities efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
You must have:
an MBA degree preferably in Hospital management or Healthcare administration and an MBBS qualification with one year of house job and a valid PMDC license. Additional certification in any audit area would be advantageous
minimum five years of working experience in an administrative area of a tertiary care hospital
experience of working in Quality department of a hospital which will be an additional advantage
proficiency in use of MS Office
ability to supervise staff and guide them effectively in completion of their assigned audit tasks
strong report writing skills with an ability to make effective presentations
excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with various departments
ability to analyse reports for accuracy and correctness.

Reporting to the Director Operations, Secondary Hospitals, you will be responsible for overall smooth running of the hospital including:
developing and implementing strategic plans, goals and operational budgets of the hospital
providing leadership and direction to the management team ensuring that operational and technical activities are performed consistently in line with organization’s vision, mission, goals and objectives
monitoring hospital clinical volumes and revenues
preparing departmental budget, manage and monitor financial and human resources accordingly
ensuring systems, policies and procedures are in compliance with approved standards
preparing performance reports and business proposals
ensuring the hospital provides safe and quality care to all the patients
building and maintaining strategic relationships with all the stakeholders
liaising with government agencies and ensuring regulatory compliance
assuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and others for hospital operations
serving as a role model by providing leadership and problem solving support to peers, direct reports and to customers
Requirements
You should have:
a Masters degree in healthcare administration or management / science / business administration from a recognized university or equivalent degree; an MBBS degree would be an added advantage
minimum five to six years of experience at a managerial level preferably in hospital environment
understanding of organizational dynamics and the ability to think strategically
proven experience in working in a team environment, to recognize trends, and identify systematic approaches to solving problems in a fast moving dynamic environment
proficiency in preparing and presenting business cases
ability to deliver effectively under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines
excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
